I'm 50+ but would no longer attempt to plan/route a trip manually when free tools like Good Sam Trip Planner and the like are available. Weight limits, clearance concerns, location of compatible fuel stops, major roadway construction projects, etc just make manual planning risky and perhaps very unproductive.
