Soft Floor Under Toilet
Howdy,
So my wife and I have been full time RVing for 3 years in a 3950BR and love it. However we had an issue for a few months with a valve in the toilet. We finally figured out where the fresh water leak was coming from and fixed it. However now the toilet tends to lean when sitting on it as if the floor is soft around it. Not sure if the water got into the floor around the base and needs replacing. Is this a normal issue with an easy solution? Don't want to tear everything out without a plan.

Sounds like you have a project coming!
The flooring on these 5ers is mostly OSB. OSB does not like water.
Instead of reinventing a wheel, take a look at a sister forum and the repairs these folks made: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f59/toil...cs-535846.html

Clean out and Repair Step 1
Howdy Dave,
I finally got around to opening things up and found our valve leak had indeed caused damage. So we started by carefully cutting out all the affected areas without damaging the floor supports or pipes. We had a piece of sub-floor that was treated with Thompsons that was perfect as a temp patch. I cut out the holes for the furnace register, black tank flange and fresh water hose. We bought a new flange with an extender and laid the sub-floor plank over the hole till we decide exactly what kind of flooring finish we want to install. All is good so far. Will update when we lay the new flooring.

Good lookin' job! Not a fun one but...
For not a lot ofadded dollars, a better flooring material could have been used. Unfortunately, RV manufacturers only see profit margins

We were about on the way out of the door on the way to camping so didn't have time for more 'comment'.
I'm as a cautionary project , planning to pull our toilet up for a look. It's been a while since I've had a toilet out of an RV, but could you have used a brass flange for setting the toilet along with a wax ring. IIRC, these toilets don't use a wax ring.
When you install new vinyl flooring, be aware that what's in the bathroom extends to the steps landing if your trailer is set up like ours. I did some step repairs and mods and left the landing uncarpeted plus used a way better grad carpet for the step. For our needs this works well
