A couple of answers for you. As long as the batteries are in good condition and fully charged, just disconnect a negative cable and leave in rig.
If you are not comfortable with that, take them to your cold garage and use a battery tender. A tender does not work the same way as a regular battery charger. First, if only puts out between 1 to 2 amps. Second, it is designed to maintain battery voltage. Therefore it will only charge as needed. Your batteries will not cook so no worries about outgassing.
Either way works fine. The choice is totally yours.
