Need help from Florida members!
If you are in Florida within 50 miles or so of the Orlando or Sebring area would you please respond if there is gas and diesel available in your area and if there are long lines.
I'm in Northern Polk county right now but need to take gas and food to my father in Sebring.. His power is back on, and phone sometimes, but after today he's going to need assistance with gas and food. There is a 6 hour wait in the gas lines where he lives and he does not have enough gas to wait and if he did there is no guarantee there will be gas when he makes it to the pump.
I don't know whether to head north or go to Sebring and head South or East. Any suggestions for those living in Florida will be helpful. Right now I have lost phone contact with him and if I don't make a connection within the next hour I'm heading out. So I'll check back in about 50 minutes for a response. I know this is short notice, but it was worth a shot.
Thanks,
.

I don't know of any shortages in Pasco and Hernando counties.
My son just got his power restored in Volusia county so they appear to be ok for fuel.
I would try to get numbers for Major Truck stops and call to see which ones are ok. Pilot, Flying J, etc.

Tom,
Thank you for the quick response. As it turns out my Angel was watching over me again this morning. As I went in search of gas cans the park owner loaned me two and told me the BP down the road just opened up. I flew down the road and was able to buy $18 worth. That's the limit. So now I'm on way to Sebring. I have lost phone contact with my father and that makes me uncomfortable, especially given the current state of things.

Know the feeling. Lost contact with my son for a little while in Deltona but everything is returning to normal there.
Good luck.
