No door stop or hydraulic door prop?
We picked up our 2015 Big Sky 379RL in April. On our first outing we noticed there is no door stop or latch to hold the outside main door open. In the past you would sometimes have a hydraulic prop that would hold the door open. On our unit the only thing that holds the door open is friction and a 10 mph wind overcomes the little bit of friction there. Am I alone here and something was left off or is this an intentional oversight?
On a different note, we love our unit...the automatic levelers and the dish washer are awesome! I feel like we hit the jackpot.

I am not sure of the configuration of your rig, but be warned that on ours the door can and did interact with the front slide. The interaction actually split the door down the middle when the slide forced it across the awning frame. The wind had overcome the friction hinges and the door actually opened to the extent that when the slide was retracted, the edge of the door was behind the edge of the slide.

On our 2015, the door was friction controlled and supposedly good for 25 miles. Slammed into my hand, I installed the old fashioned outside door latch.

Hi:
We have same year and model as yours and yes we love ours too! Our door is the same as yours. Has the friction control. We had a few days with wind in the 15 to 20 MPH range with no issues. If we find it to be a problem we will install a door latch as others have suggested. Easy fix. Congratulations on your new rig.
Best regards,
Steve

Our Big Sky came with the friction hinges, but we also have a latch to fasten the door back if it's too breezy. Used it many times in Central FL this past Winter.

Thanks for all the responses, like others my thought was to install a latch, but I wanted to make first it was not "missing". Friction is great, but just one good gust and the door is slamming into the side of that nice shiny paint.

Thanks Bingo. On ours there is no front slide to interact with. I am glad it does not have the piston-type holder as I like to open it all the way and see out. Off to Camping World to buy a latch...
