Third A/C

So my 3811ms is prewired for a third AC unit, I am thinking about adding the third unit to cool the main living area off a little quicker in heat of summer. I have a question, will all three units run at the same time or do I need to add a soft start of some sort to the third unit.

3 rd AC

Rubio171, we have 3 AC in Monty and I can run all 3 with no problem. We ordered our Monty in 2021 to get what we wanted, That was high on our list. We don’t have soft start on any of them. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not.
Good luck.
Safe travels
Steve

Some Montanas are wired with a power sharing switch which prevents 3 AC units working at the same time. Not a big deal to rewire to separate this. You just need to trace out how they have your unit wired for the 3rd AC unit.

What year and model Montana do you have. It helps a lot to get correct answers. Adding that info to a Signature ensures it is always posted. To Set up your signature read Post #23 in Thread https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=70323

The year matters because earlier years that had an option for a 3rd AC had a "load sharing" device as part of it. It only allowed one of the two ACs connected to run at a time. Newer models have separate wiring for each AC so that all three can run at one time.
