The new set and switches arrived today and I was able to get in about 3 hours work in between thunderstorms. There's a video showing how to remove a typical single motor set and install theirs here:
Everything was easy to remove save for the motor & gear box (box was cracked, so maybe that was the issue). Photos in my slide show are:
Marking the hole I'll have to cut in the street side bulkhead for that leg's gear box clearance. I wanted the pull-pin to be forward, rather than to a side, so this is what I'll have to do.
Street side leg installed with no modifications needed.
How much larger the 'shoes' are. All the hardware is much heavier made. Even the locating tabs are welded on instead of stamped flanges.
The control panel that I'm still not certain where I'll put. Although it's weather proof, I'm not too keen on having on an outside wall where anyone can play with it. They say to use no less than 10 gauge wire to complete the installation, but I'm going with something heavier. Be picking that up tomorrow morning and figuring this part out first (besides making that hole).
The broken leg's shaft.
