Which Good Sam Plan?
Would like to know which road side service/towing plan most folks go with? I dropped Allstate Motor Club today so I need to get new one started. I see a lot of members have it as I looked at past posts but could not find any that point to a certain plan. I was thinking about going with the Platinum plan.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but also look at Coach Net. We use them instead and have been very happy with them.

I have had the standard GS Roadside service for several years and been well pleased. Used them three times with no problems. Just renewed yesterday. Got the rep. to give me the intro rate of $79 for paying for three years. It was like getting one year free. They will dicker with you if you are willing to negotiate.

One thing I am looking for is a service that will also get my Montana towed at the same time as my truck. I do not like to leave it along side the road for any length of time.

Goodsam right now. If you watch a truck race on the weekend, they usually run a $59 special. That is when I got mine. When it comes for renewal, if they will not give me a special, I usually go back to Coachnet for their introductory rate. Then the next time swwitch back to Goodsam for their introductory rate.

Larry, what didn't you like about Allstate? I have them currently now and pay I think $7.97 per month. Haven't had to use service so far so I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not.

Bigred715, Where do I start. When I had my truck and Montana towed a couple days back there service sucks. First I called their robo call center to get a tow truck heading my way as I was sitting on the side of a busy US 12 and that call went fine as I was talking to a computer. During that call the towing company came on the line to find out where I was and what problems I had. At that time I told her I had a 5th wheel that I wanted off the side of the road also as it was getting late and I figured I would not be able to get my truck fixed that day. Then the towing company said I would have to call AMC back and get a second work order number so they could tow the 5er to town. This time I called and needed to talk to a live person but end up talking to a gal from so unknown country that had no idea what a 5th wheel was let alone a 3/4 ton dodge crew cab truck. She kept calling it a box van or a pickup with a canopy and I had to tell her at least a doz. time it was not a box van it was a pickup and a 5th wheel. She also kept asking for the address and zip code over and over again. It took me long to get her straight then it did to get towed.
It cost me $16.75 over the allowance of $250 to get towed 3 miles, plus the $50 I paid the driver to turn my 2 wheel drive dodge around and tow it with the rear tires off the ground. That ****** me off but I look at it cheap insurance as I did not want a tranny bill on top of everything else.
After I got home I got on line to check my coverage and seen it said Platinum service which I thought was strange as I was originally signed up for the plan that has unlimited towing to nearest service center. I have been paying $174 and thought was strange but thought the cost was just going up. Now I believe they switched my coverage to charge me without my knowledge!! I am going to call and find out when I was switched but there is not much I can do about it now.
So this might be a warning to myself and others to check your automatic payments a little close if the future.

Good Sam will tow both. There are minor differences between them, according to some literature I was able to find Coach-Net will not pay to tow you if you are in an accident unless your vehicle insurance won't. You have to pay and get reimbursed, Good Sam told me that is covered with them.

We have coach net now but have them all over the years. Good service from all of them. Find the one that best serves your travel style.
