Is a dishwasher needed?
In shopping for your next fifth wheel, will a dishwasher be important? Knowing you will be giving up storage in your kitchen. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO VOTE AND NOT ONLY COMMENT. Thank you so much.

We have been fifth-wheeling since 2008 and spend probably 50% of our time in the trailer between short trips, long trips and wintering in Florida. I would not give up kitchen storage space for a dishwasher. My husband helps with the dishes and they get done quickly.
I also am not willing to give up storage space for a washer and/or dryer either. I will just use the laundromat wherever we are. We have the rough in for these but I like the storage space better.

It would not hurt. They are small and a full hook up is needed for optimum use. We use paper plates a lot when just the two of us . I don't think we would give up the storage space since we are long timers and we need all the storage space we can get.
We do have the W/D and that gets a lot of use.

We appreciate and enjoy a lot of the conveniences in our new Montana complete with washer/dryer combo but a dishwasher isn't at all required for us. Kitchen space is at a premium already.

Not for us. We just wash after the meal. As said we do use a lot of paper plates. Tried washing them, put them in hot soppy water to soak but someone must have stolen them. Drained the sink nothing there???

I think it is a waste of space. We don't make that many dirty dishes to get that worried about. I would rather have the storage space in the kitchen, which is usually at a premium in most RV kitchens.

I would have a hard time getting along without my dishwasher. And, she cooks good, too.

Before dish washers were available I did a mod and added one to our 07 3400RL. Used it a few times and it worked great. However after a while we found out it was just as easy to wash what dishes we used in the sink. The dishwasher then became a storage space for plastic bags towels and other things. Like others when it is just us we use paper plates and solo cups.

Actually we already have 2 dishwashers. She washes sometimes and I wash sometimes. We have been full timing since Sep 1, 2010 and it works fine for us. Storage space is at a premium.

Count us as again going against the grain. We have a built in Fisher&Paykel dishdrawer that we had custom installed by Camping World of Fayetteville in place of the propane oven. We have found that the combination microwave/convection oven supports our cooking needs and am (DW anyway) now totally spoiled by the Dishdrawer which can hold a ten place setting. Here is what we ended up with including a stainless steel cooktop and we are overjoyed with the result:

We're not cooking for a large family, just the two of us, so dishes are at a minimum. Thus no dishwasher for us, but we do have the washer & dryer and wouldn't be without them.

Same here...we use the space where an electric D/W would be, for storage.

That's an individual choice. I don't mind doing the dishes. Two people is pretty easy.

Lots of bbq here so only a few plates to wash. Not a problem and would hate to give up kitchen storage. Now, my washer/dryer combo, that's another story. Love it!

We would rather have the storage in the kitchen. Just the 2 of us so very few dishes to wash. Just as often we use paper too. A washer and dryer is much more important to the boss, and not a combo.
