A/C cycling

It’s been screaming hot and humid at Branson for the last few days. I’ve noticed that my Brisk Air II a/c seems to be running continuously in the living room and gets quite cold and uncomfortable. After a few years of this, I just tried putting a small oscillating fan on the kitchen island directed at the thermostat. Thought being, since that thermostat is located close to the entrance door where there is no insulation, and allows for entry of warm air through the cracks and constant opening, it wouldn’t give an accurate indication of the living room temp. It would therefore give an indication of the ambient temp in that area of the door. The reason I thought of this is because the a/c in the bedroom cycles at a normal rate, keeping it comfortable because there is no entry of unwanted warm air. The oscillating fan does its job as intended, and the a/c is cycling normally. No more freezing. Now I need to work on the noise levels.
