Just remove the awning?

I'm parking my RV under a permanent open structure with an awning on the structure. Any reason NOT to remove the existing awning? At the lower attachment there had been a point where water was getting in and rotted some of it out. It's been already removed from there, and patched up.

It's a 2001 Montana and I don't think the awning itself is in good shape, and I don't really see a need in keeping it. I may put it under the fifth wheel so if I sell it will be there. Thoughts?

If it’s permanent or not it’s your choice. If you won’t it off take it off.

Considering the camper is under cover, I don't see any reason to keep the awning on, except for resale someday???? Being a 2001 model (23 years old now), I don't think it matters one way or the other. Resale value has pretty much bottomed out now, with or without the awning.

As far as functionality to the camper? As long as the screw holes are sealed up good, even if under a cover, your camper will be fine. It's your call what to do.
