Fresh water fridge defend

Still trying to figure out everything on my MH305RL we bought in December. I filled the fresh water to the top. When I turn on the pump the water is sent back out the city water connection. Before I start looking a little advice would be great. Is there a check valve gone bad?
#2, I read about fridge defend, what is the general consensus? Plus if positive choosing the right product seems a little confusing on their website Any recommendations?

Danaw -
Water coming back out thru the city connection sounds like your fresh water valve is still set to “fill” to allow your fresh water tank to be filled. Maybe someone else will have a better answer.

Fridge defend offers options on their website. If all you want is safety and peace of mind - start with the basic offering. The other packages offer fans to improve performance of the fridge. I have a residential Samsung so I have no experience with fridge defend.

Also - you should include your rig model and year with every post…or put it in your signature by clicking on “User CP” above left.

Dana,

The fridge defend is money well spent - adding fans will allow your fridge to cool better.

Sounds like your have a bad check valve in your water system.

We've had the ARP device since 2015, after having the cooling unit replaced the second time in less than a year. With the ARP device, now called Fridge Defend, we are still on the same cooling unit and it still is working great. We have the unit that has two cooling fans in addition to the factory installed fans. https://www.arprv.com/

The water hose port has a built-in check valve and it has either failed or has some debris that is causing it to stay open, allowing water to exit instead of keeping water inside the plumbing of the rig.

Thank you, that will save some time diagnosing.
Is the fridge defend a straight forward DIY project?

ARP is a relatively simple install.
