What to use for patching roof?

We just returned from a weekend trip and when I washed the 5er today, I saw two spots where the roofing has been nicked, leaving about 1/2-3/4 inch tears in the roofing. What is the best material for patching these tears? Dicor self-leveling? Eternabond tape?

Yes, both products. Clean the area well, allow to dry. Cut a piece of Eternabond, round the corners of the patch and apply to the area and use a roller to fully press the patch tight against the roof. Then, using the self leveling Dicor, apply a bead fully around the edge of the patch and you should be good as new. For damage on a more vertical area, you might need to use the non-leveling Dicor, but everything else is the same.

Personally I would use the tape. To me, caulking products are used to seal two surfaces. Clean and prep the surface and apply the tape. Use the dicor to seal the edges of the patch

Inject a generous amount of Dicor in the hole.
Press down the roofing material until it's flush.
Use tan colored Eternabond tape over it.

Ya, what Daryels said. Important to get under the tear. I recently had mine done under warranty and that's exactly what the tech did.

Thanks, all.

I used Dicor self-leveling sealant in the holes, then covered them with an eternabond patch and then applied dicor self-leveling sealant around the edges of the patches. Everything is holding well.

Clean the area very well with non clorinated break cleaner, or whatever you feel you need to use, then I would get some “NO SAG” Dicor, or other brand roof sealer you like. If you use self leveling, it will run down the side trying to level itself so it needs to be no sag. Squirt a generous amount inside the hole, then use Eternabond tape with rounded corners and roll it in place to get a good seal (you might let the liquid sealant set up before taping to give you something solid to press the tape against). Then you need to no sag calk the edges of the tape because UV breaks down the adhesive of the tape.
