Another Lithium install question(s)

I’ve searched but can’t find what I’m looking for. I have just installed a 300 ah battery. I have cleaned up the wiring in the battery bay a little to provide future hook up of a dc/dc charger but have left the 50a self resetting circuit breaker that is between the battery 4 awg and the 4 awg cable to the converter-charger. When I set the pd4575 LI switch to LI, the converter/charger puts out just about 50 amps to the battery but only at about 13.7v.
Will the charger bump up to 14.4v when the charge is closer to 100% ?
And I assume everyone must be changing out that little 50a breaker to something larger with bigger studs? The breaker is getting a little warm. About 15 minutes after I shot that temperature I got another reading at 103 where it stayed until I ran out of daylight at 80% SOC. It didn’t trip the breaker, but it obviously was close and the charger is capable of putting out more amps. TIA

Can't answer your question directly, but attached an ampacity chart for reference. Just have to ensure we don't over-fuse our wiring circuits. My single 200W panel tops off my 412Ah battery bank to about 14.7V. Waiting on brackets ro add another pair of 320W panels plus a 150/50 Victron MPPT.

Hi Lee, thanks for the reply. I think I found my answers this morning in this thread on dc/dc chargers, post #4, and some other good tidbits too. I’ll need to do a little more digging to confirm the posters know what they’re talking about, but sounds right so far.
I’m going to test it briefly by routing it through the 80 amp breaker for the hydraulic pump. I’m thinking now that maybe the little studs on CB is adding too much resistance and holding back my charger. The studs on the CB are all that are getting hot, the cable was at ambient temp. We’ll see.

I used to have one, but I don't know what the charge profile of the PD charger is. Something like this would be better than the junk Keystone provides; available in various amperages.

So I hooked the charger cable up to the 80 amp breaker for the hydraulic pump and plugged in the shore power, the charge rate went to 58 amps then settled around 55 until the soc got up to around 95%. Nothing got warm so I’m yanking out the 50a self resetting CB and replacing it. As expected, as the soc went toward 100, the current started dropping and volts started rising. When the battery was fully charged the voltage was 14.6…so that answered that question.
Before leaving I pulled the battery shut off switch (the red key, that I never shut off) in the wet bay. Sure enough, rated at 50 amps. Geez, nothing like putting a 75 amp charger in a trailer and then putting 50 amp rated fuses and switches in the circuit.

Yes, I see that in the thread that I referenced above that they replaced the 50 amp auto resetting breaker with a larger CB like the one you mention. Right now I’m thinking I might go with a fuse, anl or mega. Trying to figure out if that may be a better option for an application where current goes both ways. Most CB’s are polarized, just not sure if that matters.
