Safety Recall 24V-234

We received a new recall notification for our Montana related to the stove LED lights. Has anyone seen a “repair procedure” ? Based upon information provided, it appears that they are simply cutting the hot lead to the LEDs on the stove knobs due to o we heating.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated

I saw the recall and you're correct. It appears that the correction is to cut the power lead. Lame

I located a paper copy of the repair procedures. Keystone is instructing the dealers to cut the power coming off the main board (and cap the leads) and to remove the switch on the face of the stove that turns the oven light and LED lights on and off. They are supplying a plug to fill the hole when you remove the switch. I suspect that it is too expensive to fix the main power board and much easier to just disconnect the features that we paid for when we purchased the unit. Thank you Keystone.

One other thing the letter says is "Owners should disconnect the power to the unit when not in use." This can be interpreted in a couple of ways. Does unit = stove or unit = RV?
The stove is hardwired to a DC circuit and you have to remove the screws holding the stove in place to find the wiring. So by "unit" they really mean RV..i.e. disconnect the battery and don't leave the RV plugged into shore power.
There are 4 circuit boards on the front of the stove; one for each burner and one for the oven. They have power to them at all times and a small magnet in the knob activates the lights when turned anywhere except the off position. But until the main power wire is cut there is always 12 volt power present at each circuit board which is why those that are failing and catching fire seem to do it randomly, even when no one is around.
Disclaimer - I'm not offering advice here - this is a NHTSA safety recall - but...
If you are a DIYer, you can remove the cooking grate, lift the stove top burner platform (the latch is in the center so give it a quick jerk upward), and access the power wires. The Red wire that comes from the back on the left side and goes to the switch on the left front of the stove is the 12 volt positive wire. Cut, cap & tape with electrical tape. Verify that the lights don't work with the switch or by turning each of the 4 knobs.

If you choose to do this you may want to take a pic or two. Keystone may have to keep sending letters to confirm the work is complete because of the fire safety danger.

While I seriously doubt it, I'm hoping this is step 1 in the process to make everyone "whole" by actually replacing the front controls on the stove in our relatively expensive Montanas!!

Here’s the link with access to 6 docs. Click on the blue text. The last doc shows the repair. Others show the stove serial numbers affected.
