Steve have you tried going on the roof and cleaning the fins?? They could be full of poplar fuzz and other debris that gets sucked into the fin area. Usually you don`t need a recharge unless you are leaking freon. Cleaning the filter inside also helps but I`m sure you have already done that. I leave the fan on ON all the time in hot weather. A friend is a heating and cooling specialist and he says to do that also in your stick house. As it is more efficeint to run the fan especially during hot weather as we are experiencing in the midwest right now.
