If you would have asked me this question in the spring I would have said lower it when winds get above 25mph. But when the F-4 blasted through this area we vacated the Monte and took off in the truck. I thought I held the button to lower the dish but I guess it hit it too quick and it stayed up. Winds in the RV park probably didn't get over 50mph since the tornado missed it by several miles. I got up on the roof and checked everything over and it was fine. So now I am confident these things can stand up to sustained 40mph winds. I would still lower mine if gusts were going to be over 45 though.
