The water has to go somewhere so when it filled the holding tank it ran on the floor and then out of the rig. I assume the basement got a lot of water in it too. I'm guessing that you are right, and the water was left running. It would have filled the grey tank, and blew the cap off the roof. The water would then run all over the roof!.
