I had this problem occur last August while camping out in Idaho a long way from anywhere. It turned out to be a problem with the fuel injectors. Chevy replaced all the injectors at no cost (would have been about $3000). The dealer said Chevy was replacing up to 200K miles at no cost. I had about 120K miles at the time. There was some sort of manufacturer problem.
