Birds flying at that big window is a pretty common occurrence for us. It seems that the birds see a reflection of themselves in the window and attack it. I find it quite comical when you're backed up to a row of trees and birds will fly out of the trees (safe nesting place) to attack an image of a bird reflecting from the window.

We have the same problem in the stick house. I'm always picking up a dead bird that has run into the window...oddly enough, it's only that one window where this happens.
