We did the same as you are wanting to do. I purchased a Fan-Tastic fan to place in the vent above the bed to help out when in hot weather. That lasted for 3 years until I finally just had to get a second AC. When we had the second AC installed in the bed room I took the Fan-Tastic fan and placed it in the vent between the shower and the toilet room to vent moisture while we showered. I took the 12v power from the pancake light next to the vent. Works great. Vents out when showering, and vents air in when we need cool air but not AC.
