I also don't know where the galley tank is under the kitchen or how far beneath the floor it is. Is there a risk of screwing into it if you were to use something long enough to screw down through all layers?

Since the island moving a lot doesn't seem to be a wide-spread problem maybe it's more about how many screws were used. Putting them in at an angle is a good idea as well.


Edit: I did some looking around and it's hard to find any real data on the floor construction of the HC. Here is a pic from a plant tour video I found. The floor looks like it might be a couple inches thick.
