A typical load uses between 7-16 gallons of water according to the web site and depends on several factors (load size, number of cycles, etc.). On a 3850, the washer drains into the galley tank, which is where your kitchen sink drains to as well. This tank is approximately 45 gallons. It totally depends on your usage, but you should be able to a load or two just to get familiar with the washer.
