I have Dish. It works pretty good. I don't add the local channels option. They have a month by month plan for RVers. I just stop it when I get home and don't pay the next month.
The only problem, all be it small, is when I change time zones, I have to call them to change my location. Otherwise the guide shows the wrong time for everything.
My dish is the Pathways II, I believe. It only requires the coax connection for power. This usually means the newer rigs with KeyTV won't work, because it won't feed the power backwards to the dish. You can run a separate line to the inside box for the tv, or disconnect Keytv behind the storage panel and reconnect the in and output lines via an adapter.
I just put up with bad wifi, and if it is really bad I use my ATT phone for a hotspot.
