I have a Chevy 2015 SB SRW duramax and I get 10-11.5 mpg pulling depending on speed, wind, and terrain and close to 20 mpg on the interstate without the trailer going 70+. This is one generation behind yours on the engine I believe but it’ll give you a point of reference.

Mine is the LTZ so one model below a Denali/High Country trim. I have an aftermarket (not from Factory) Curt Slider hitch. Overall pulls well and no concerns to date.
