When ours did that, I removed the hinge screws and put a one by one inch piece of wood. I then put the next size up screws in the hinge holes. I also used 4, 1/4"×20×1.25" bolts, washers, and self locking nuts to secure 1x1 to plywood. Two at ends and two evenly spaced towards the center close to hinges. I also put a light coat of wood glue, between 1x and plywood. Depending on the room you have, I also did the same on the hinged side of plywood. Just a suggestion, it worked for us.
