I get why people would want to tie down the awning. But I would never do it even if I was there to monitor it. It boils down to, I'm not going to watch it 24/7. It only takes a minute or two to bring them in if we leave for any reason even on a calm day. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Simple. 2 minutes will not kill you or your plans. JHMO.
