kenandjudy, I had a short bed Chevy when I first started out and had a slider hitch installed. In the year I drove that truck and trailer I never needed to use the slider. I did, however, watch VERY closely when I backed into a narrow spot. It's one of those things that you MAY need some day and MAY not.
