What year and model truck?
The Ford filter system in the ~2012-2014 trucks is a problem. The water sensor sits above the fuel intake pipe. There have been far too many issues with the HPFP in that year range. Ford made changes to the pump in 2015 and then put a new filter in after 2017. Reports on the newer trucks seem to confirm the fix was good.
