The connections were still back there and all they had to do was cut the hole in the siding and installed the steps. the kit even came with a gasket to edge the hole.

Great news! I'll get busy on that next week. I've seen aluminum 4 step folding steps. I want to check out. The doorway step would make me happier in the landfill.
