A few years ago we traveled across Canada from Port Huron to Nova Scotia. At that time we used Passport America, which saved us a lot of money over 7 weeks. Nearly all these campgrounds required cash instead of credit card. I prefer to always pay for dining with cash, don't want my credit card leaving my sight, plus sometimes gas is less with cash. Anyway we usually carry around $2000.00 and generally bring some home. Most of the time, when we get home my trip is paid for. I have a special hiding place in the Monty that only the DH and I know, but if traveling with friends we each know about the others in case of accident or emergency. Works well for us.
