Took off the trim piece, removed the inside clear dome, bought a car styrofoam backed sunshade with a reflective side, cut the shade to fit the clear dome, used aluminum tape to secure it to the dome shiny side up, reinstalled the dome and trim. I still get some diffused light through the dome but it cut the heat in the bedroom significantly.
