First of all, I'm happy to see you stepped up to a 1 ton TV. Smart move. Most likely the tailgate will be close. Since it's a new TV I would definitely have someone spot me while backing up the first time to make sure there's no contact.

My Andersen hitch gives me a 9" set back from rear axle. I have enough room to walk between open tailgate and 5er. Without the Andersen it would be close but still wouldn't touch. However, coming in at an angle could prove precarious. Just be careful as you learn your parameters.
