On our rig, with the older style windows with the frame against the wall, we had leaks some years ago, and I discovered the butyl tape used between the frame of the window and the exterior wall had shrunk leaving a microscopic gap, just enough to allow water to get past and run down inside the wall and ultimately migrate under the wall and get the carpet wet. I ended up sealing all the windows with silicone caulking at the edge of the frame and the wall and haven't had any water intrusion since.
