Garmin BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera Install

I bought a Garmin BC 30 wireless backup camera to use with my Garmin RV 770 GPS display.

I want to install this on the back of my RV. It has a 45-feet transmit range, plus there's a 50-foot extension cable so you can run the wireless transmitter all the way to the nose of the RV if needed.

Has anyone done this Garmin BC 30 install?

I was thinking of pulling the center running light, and replacing it with the camera and using the power going to the light. This means I have to have the RV running lights on to use the camera, which I do anyway. It also means that I will have the camera always-on, not just when backing up, which is something I also want. The Garmin RV 770 has a menu selection to view the camera when it's always on. I think this would be helpful to get situational awareness while on the highway.

Would putting the backup camera where the center running light is and using the running light power work? Is it a good or bad idea?
