Before I installed the TPMS I would kick every tire and look at them prior to pulling out. At each stop I would do the same plus reach down and feel each hub for high temps. I then continue around the trailer and check all slides and windows. If I am away from the rig, like inside paying for gas or something, when I return I inspect the hitch area just to make sure no one messed with anything. With the TPMS I plug it in prior to hooking everything up in the morning. By the time I am ready to do the final hook up to the truck I can look at the monitor and see all the cold pressure readings in all the tires.
