I had some metal supports leftover, so installed them on the upper 2 shelves today. I could not install on the bottom shelf, as the water heater is under that shelf and I couldn't get the screws in.

I bought 1/4" plywood and cut it to fit the in the shelves themselves and since my wife was covering with anti-skid material. Problem solved as well.
