For those who have had an Onan 5500 generator installed as a factory option, I am wondering how the factory did the wiring?? Our 3400 was equipped with the "generator prep" that included an Iota Smartswitch that combined the shore feed and generator output into an auto-switch before power entered the rig. Are the current generator preps done in the same manner?? The main question I have is whether or not the shore feed is brought into the battery compartment as part of the generator installation or even if the shore feed was already present in the battery compartment. I am hoping to mirror my Autoformer, EMS installation that I had before, but it is totally dependent on the shore power being present at the battery compartment?? Anybody have a clue??
