I want to mount my Yaesu FT-7900 in my Mountaineer. Do most of you hams run a power supply off AC power, or run new wires from the battery. I don't think the 12 volt wiring is thick enough to transmit at full power. The FT-7900 draws about 9 amps when transmitting at 50 watts.
