I believe the lifting mechanism is a standard Schwintek system. There are diagnostic steps that may help determine what is wrong. Here is a Lippert (LCI) diagnostic document that may help. The PDF is for in-wall but the same ideas apply to the bed system.

LCI also has video classes on many subjects including the Schwintek system. I found that class to be wonderful in understanding how the Schwintek system work and what to do when it doesn't. Register (it is free) and find the Schwintek course.
