We have been to just about every city in Alaska that can be driven to from Fairbanks south. We were in Haines yesterday and tomorrow is Skagway. Our last Alaskan visit will be in Hyder, described as "a little quirky". It has been a great trip so far, these past 74 days. We will be home in less than a month now. In some ways, it seems the trip just started, and in other ways it seems like we have been gone forever. We have experienced snow, rain and earthquakes. We have caught and eaten fresh halibut and sockeye salmon. We have seen glaciers, bears, orcas, wolves, foxes, moose, caribou and enough snowcapped mountains to fill my memory card. It is still the last frontier in many ways. There are still areas without electricity, plumbing or other everyday services that we take for granted. We are thankful for everyone that shared their Alaskan wisdom with us over the last 8 years as we planned this trip and hope that we can help others in a similar manner.
