Water pump noise

OK, I am one of those folks who 100% of the time pump my water from my fresh water tank, even when on a full hook-up sites or at home. Lots of reasons why and that topic has been beaten to death in the past. That's not my concern.

Yesterday, I un-winterized the Montana. I ended up flushing over 40 gallons of water through all the lines, ice maker, and the Splendid washing machine. All is well. System is good to go. I'll probably santize now, once this horid misty cold rain goes away.

So, last night we slept in the trailer. And to help further purge the water lines, I turned on the water heater and we even took showers in the camper. This is when things got interesting. (Nothing is broken, so no reason to panic .... just another new experience I've never encountered before)....

My wife was taking a shower and I was standing in the the kitchen area. The water pump is hammering away, like it is always accustom to when first filling the tank or after traveling. It takes a few minutes for it to settle down and get quiet again.

But this time ... well ... you know that "hammering sound"... well.... it came out of the refrigerator! I'm not kidding! The water pump is located in the front, in the front basement. The water tank is in the very rear of the trailer. The water heater and the refrigerator are both, more in the middle. The bathroom and shower position is behind the axles.

Normally, that hammer sound comes out from under the shower pan. That's where it likes to resonate. Once it settles down, you can then hear the water pump's soft hum if you are in the front living room. It's really pretty quiet. But, when it decides to make that hammer sound, it's always under the shower, even though the pump itself is located all the way to the front.

So, imagine my, somewhat, surprise when the refrigerator started playing the drum! And there was no hammering sound coming from anywhere else in the camper!

Weird hum?

And oh, using the toilet in the middle of the night, the noise finally settled down. All is quiet again.

Still... weird? Go figure?
