Generally it is not a problem. But if you tried to operate too many high current devices that were on one leg of the 50 amp service, it could exceed that 50 amps and trip the breaker. An example might be that the water heater, fireplace, microwave, and outlets in which a hair dryer, a curling iron, and an electric space heater were all wired to the same hot leg of the 50 amp service then it could trip. 50 amp service has two hot legs, but if either one is overloaded it will trip both legs.

A tripping breaker can also be due to that breaker going bad.
