We still use the 510 system we purchased 5 years ago and have had only 1 sensor fail. Because it was well out of warranty, it was just $20.00 and the return of the sensor for a new one. They regularly cost $50.00 and it doesn't matter which model you get I don't see a downside to the 510 as I don't have to replace batteries yearly and I really like the shape of the monitor. It is flatbottomed but tilts back just enough to see it where we keep it. I think it is a personal decision on which one you decide on. I agree with going to Amazon to purchase batteries if you go that route. Hugs, Di
