Normally a 5/8 inch u-bolt will have a long nut that accepts a 15/16 inch wrench. I doubt very much that they are 5/8 as these would be on 10,000 lb axles, not 7,000 lb.
The 1/2 fine thread u-bolts are bolted with a nut that takes a 3/4 inch wrench which are found on the 7,000 lb axles.
