Here in Canon City we are recovering well from the fire just West of town at the Royal Gorge Bridge. We lost 42 of the 48 buildings at the bridge. The bridge did not have any significant damage. Just a few planks scorched.
We get a lot of smoke in the evenings coming from the South Fork fire 100 miles away as the crow flies. The days are pretty good with tourist doing their thing. Lots of rafting.
I guess there are 8 fires in the state. Most of Colorado is not affected by fire. If you are in a fire area one would feel different.
Our prayers are with those in the fire areas and for the ones who have lost their homes. 512 homes lost at present in Black Forest near Colorado Springs and many others throughout the state.
