gbsb---On our 2006 3475RL our Dometic would only get cold and work when set on 5. So we did this for the first few months that we used the RV. We only went on one 5 day trip and the others were weekend trips. It seemed to be working.
In August we left for a 9 week trip. On day 4 the refrig would not cool down. So we went to Camping World for a warranty check. They could not find anything that was not working according to spec. So I towed the Monty back to the RV Park. Two days later the complete unit failed. We went back to Camping World and they worked with Dometic to completely replace the cooling unit. Basically the cooling unit is the "guts" of the unit in the back. The front door and insides are our original unit. After 9 weeks and about 6000 miles on the road, the Dometic is doing GREAT!!
Lesson--take it in for a check and I would recommend running the unit for about a month to force a hard failure!
