The MOST I have seen through the 7 way cable 12v charging wire is 7A going into batteries at 39%.
It's a trickle charge at most.
I installed a DC-DC charger and love it.
If you don't boondock, but want to have a backup charging source (without carrying a generator) I highly recommend one.
