I have one and don’t use their data plan. It is not designed to do anything with cell signal, only for boosting an external WiFi signal. I have found that it will not recognize WiFi networks at some campgrounds and also some WiFi signals are too weak for it. I have looked into other more highly recommended WiFi signal boosters. The winegard connect 2 does both WiFi and cellular.
