The reason I asked the question was I happened to be camping near a couple having a complete solar install done. I talked with the installer and he walked me through his install.
He highly recommended going straight from battery to inverter. No disconnects, bus bars or any other terminals other than positive side fused or DC breaker.
Like you guys I have mine fused on positive side to bus bar. Then straight to 2000W inverter. Negative side is battery-shunt-disconnect-bus bar-inverter. I was simply wondering if others went straight to larger inverters as he recommended.
BTW- I can easily start and run our 15K Btu A/C with Micro Air Easy Start from our Samlex 2000W inverter. I've only ran it for ten minutes or so at a time just to see if it would indeed run it. I have no intentions of trying use it for that purpose though. That's the job of our Honda 3000 Genny.
